Amaze developed a formal submission focused on the specific educational needs of students on the autism spectrum as part of the Victorian Government’s review of the Program for Students with Disabilities (PSD).
In September, Amaze requested feedback from the community regarding their experiences of the schooling in Victoria. As a result of this feedback and community consultation, we developed a submission containing a number of recommendations aimed at improving students’ experiences in the school system and outcomes for individuals, families and the community.
If you would like to read our submission, you can do so here.
Amaze is encouraged by the Government’s commitment to addressing the disadvantages students on the autism spectrum face. The review of the PSD as one building block of many that are required to achieve true inclusion and greater educational outcomes for students on the autism spectrum within Victoria’s classrooms.
