Amaze and Autism CRC announce new partnership
The Cooperative Research Centre for Living with Autism (Autism CRC) is pleased to announce that Amaze (formerly Autism Victoria) has become a Participant within the CRC.
Announced at their Annual General Meeting on November 25, Amaze will join 50 participants, across Australia and internationally, working collaboratively to transform the lives of people living with autism.
Autism CRC aims to provide evidence-based, practical outcomes that make a real and enduring difference in the lives of people on the autism spectrum.
“As the peak organisation supporting the autism community in Victoria, a partnership with Amaze is an important element in our national framework,” said Autism CRC Chair, Ms Judy Brewer.
“For the work of the CRC to have the greatest impact, it is necessary that we take account of needs and practice at national, state and local levels, as well as urban, regional and remote communities.  As with many of our Participants, Amaze brings to our collaboration significant insight and capacity for the dissemination of our outcomes.”
Amaze’s new strategic plan aims to create inclusive communities that give voice and opportunity to people on the autism spectrum and their families and Amaze will undertake research to support its policy priorities to ensure the voices of people with the lived experience are heard. This aligns well with Autism CRC’s commitment to inclusive practice in research.
“Amaze is delighted to become a Participant within the CRC. We see this opportunity as one where we collaborate and mutually benefit from our combined efforts towards improving life for people on the autism spectrum and their families by identifying what works best,” said Amaze Chair, Jane Evans.
Autism CRC is the world’s first, national research effort focused on autism across the lifespan.
