Do you want to be part of an exciting new program for people with disability to build your leadership skills and help to change the way people think about disability?
Applications are encouraged from people who identify as Aboriginal, Deaf, culturally diverse, women, people living in regional and rural locations, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex or gender diverse people.
What leadership experience do I need?
The program is aimed at all levels of leadership for people with disability:
Getting Started: I like to take the lead with other people to get things done. People say that I would be a good leader. I would like to learn more about being a leader.
Experienced: I have experience in leading other people in the community, or in my daily activities or at work. I want to build more skills as a leader.
Established: I have a lot of leadership experience in the community or at work. I have many achievements as a leader. I want to challenge myself and develop my leadership even further.
Apart from the Williamson Disability Scholarship, which has a small fee, the Disability Leadership Program is being provided at no cost to you.
Access support to enable your full participation is available, including Auslan interpreters.
Why should I do this program?
The Disability Leadership Program will help you reach your leadership goals.
You will meet new people and learn from leaders. You will learn new skills and discover new ways to be a leader.
You can choose from the training options that are best for you and suit your level of leadership experience.
How many program options can I choose?
You can choose up to five of the training options. You should only choose from the options that are suitable for your level of leadership experience.
If your application is successful the program will try to match you to the options you choose. This may not always be possible.
What are the program options I can choose from?
You can choose up to five of the training options.
How do I apply?
To apply you should complete and submit the Online Application Form. You will need to upload a letter of support from a referee and your resume when you submit your application.
What if I can’t complete my application online?
You can complete your application in other formats – for example in “Word” format or in hard copy.

An independent panel including people with disability will assess the applications based on the selection criteria.
Your Commitment
Program places will be given to people who are fully committed to making the most of the opportunity. If your application is successful, you will be asked to sign a form to say that you are committed to attending the program sessions and to meeting the program requirements.
