Amaze invites students and schools to participate in an exciting activity for World Autism Month.
We hope that you’ll get involved and celebrate with us and increase understanding and acceptance at your school in one or more of the following ways:
In 2018, we’re celebrating World Autism Awareness Week from 26th March, culminating in World Autism Awareness Day on 2nd April.
World Autism Awareness Day is one of four official health-specific United Nations Days. The day brings together organisations from around the world to improve public awareness of autism.
It is estimated that 1 in 100 Victorians are autistic. Chances are that autistic people learn or work at your school _ people you see every day.
We know that discrimination towards autistic people and their families leads to social isolation, mental illness and unhappiness.
But we also know that helping young people – and teachers – understand autism will lead to acceptance and inclusion of autistic people.
Amaze can provide you with educational and other materials to support your school’s activities.
Please let us know if you are able to join us and other schools across Victoria in celebrating World Autism Awareness Week.
