Kangaroo Flat Football Netball Club does an Amazing thing

Kangaroo Flat Football Netball Club has been applauded for hosting matches to raise awareness and acceptance of autism.
Senior footballers and A-Grade netballers wore alternate uniforms on the day, with a luncheon, guest speakers and fundraising activities making the event hugely successful.
Kangaroo Flat FNC president Scott Mitchell and event coordinator Jason Stevens presented a donation on behalf of the club to Amaze to the value of $3048.
Event coordinator Jason Stevens said: “It is fantastic that our football netball club is able to make a donation of this value to such a wonderful charity.

“Our players, officials, members and supporters have contributed to this donation and we are very proud to be able to support a charity that really makes a difference for people on the autism spectrum and the families that support them.
“I really want to thank the local businesses who donated products and services, the Maryborough Football Netball Club who were our opponents on the day and most importantly our event sponsor R&M Collins Honey Producers.
“All parties helped the event be a success and I hope our club has played a small part in promoting awareness and acceptance of autism in our community.
“I’m sure Amaze will be very appreciative of this donation, I thank them for the service they provide and for their support of our inaugural awareness match”.
Amaze CEO Fiona Sharkie said: “It was an honour to visit the Kangaroo Flat Football Netball Club to watch the Awareness Match and speak at the luncheon.
“The feedback from those in attendance was overwhelmingly positive and supportive of Amaze and its mission to create better understanding and support of autism.
“I’d like to personally thank Scott, Jason and everyone involved with the Kangaroo Flat Football Netball Club and the fundraiser.
“We’re currently running a campaign called Do One Thing for Autism where we ask the wider community to do something for autism.
“We understand that hosting an awareness match is not something everyone can do, but the Kangaroo Flat Football Netball Club have certainly captured the spirit of the Do One Thing for Autism campaign and proven themselves a social leader of the community.”
