The next federal election will take place in 2019. It’s time for the Australian autism community to come together and demand #Change4Autism.
Amaze is proud to be a member of the Australian Autism Alliance, a diverse national network of 11 autism organisations combining autistic-led organisations, research bodies, advocacy groups and service providers.Together, we are campaigning to government and election candidates for change in 4 priority areas:
Election candidates need to hear the your stories, so they can understand what action needs to be taken to break down barriers and create opportunities for real autistic Australians and their supporters.
In the coming weeks, it’s vital that as many autistic people as possible contact their local election candidates to tell them why we need Change 4 Autism.
You don’t need fancy presentations or to know lots about politics – all you need to do is share your story and ask for the changes you and your family need to feel better supported.Get involved in whatever way feels right for you: meet your candidates, speak to them on the phone, send an email or letter, or use social media. Every conversation is an opportunity to make #Change4Autism.The Australian Autism Alliance has created a handy how-to guide for contacting and advocating to your local candidates.
