Amaze secures education expert and human rights advocate Charie Roberts for Autism Regional Roadshow events in Traralgon, Bairnsdale, Wodonga and Bendigo

Amaze has secured the talents of Charie Roberts for its Autism Regional Roadshows.
Charie is a qualified adult educator with extensive experience in vocational education and has worked in both primary and secondary schools as a disability and autism specialist with a focus on inclusive practices.
“I have a strong commitment to human rights and social justice principles,” she says.

“I have experience working in education, with people who have disabilities and in the community service sector, as well as extensive experience in leading and mentoring groups and individuals to achieve their goals, with my goal being to make a genuine, positive difference in the lives of others”.
In the Roadshow events, Charie covers topics including inclusive practices that are effective inside and outside the primary and secondary school classrooms. She also explores Key Word Sign and why it is useful
The Amaze Autism Roadshows cover six regional centres through October and November, providing local communities with much-needed information on the services and support available to them.
The autism communities of Traralgon, Bairnsdale, Wodonga and Bendigo are invited to a free, one-day information forum in their area to hear from experts in the fields of education, employment and the NDIS, along with a speaker with a lived experience of autism.
The roadshows are funded by the State Government in response to the recent Parliamentary Inquiry into Autism that identified rural and regional Victorians as having limited access to autism information and services.
They are an immediate action whilst the five year Autism State Plan is in development.
